General Contractor

Specialised Laboratory Fit-Out

In 2023, Tanance acted as general contractor for the fit-out of a specialised technical laboratory at Meta’s Zurich offices — a complex, multi-trade build delivered to the exacting standards of one of the world’s leading technology companies, and managed end-to-end by a single dedicated Tanance project manager and assistant.

What we delivered

Working from technical planning drawings through to final handover, Tanance self-performed the majority of the works and coordinated a team of 8–10 specialist subcontractors. The programme spanned demolition, drywall and structural construction, mechanical setup, and the precise installation of highly sensitive equipment — with electrical upgrades, calibration and technical analysis carried out by certified specialist partners.

Engineering around the constraints

The project required several demanding conditions to be managed at once: strict vibration and noise control, the precise installation of sensitive equipment, and a complex, multi-stage permitting process. To protect Meta’s live working environment, much of the work was carried out at night. Every phase was delivered under Meta’s own security and confidentiality protocols, alongside Swiss SIA and EHS standards and local building regulations. Across the entire programme there were no safety incidents attributable to our works.

As is normal on a project of this complexity, the scope evolved as work progressed. Tanance adapted quickly to each change, managing revisions and the associated budget adjustments transparently and keeping the client informed at every stage.

The laboratory was delivered on time and within the agreed budget, including the approved scope changes, with a clean, low-snag handover. The client described our work as “excellent” and “amazing” — and the relationship continues today, with Tanance remaining their trusted construction and facility partner.

Retail space remodelling for Maisons du Monde

Maisons du Monde, a leading European furniture and home décor retailer, needed their Villeneuve store reconfigured to align with a new seasonal marketing campaign. Working as general contractor in close coordination with CAPS Group and specialist trade partners, Tanance managed the full remodelling process — from planning and procurement through to final delivery. The project required precise scheduling to minimise disruption to store operations. All trades were coordinated and the project was delivered within the six-week deadline, meeting the client’s campaign launch date.

Project delivered on time and within scope. The quality of execution led Maisons du Monde to extend their partnership with Tanance for subsequent seasonal campaigns.
